Who Am I?
What an excellent question, don’t you think? Aside from being an alien cheerleader at one of my 3 gazillion day jobs, here is a little bit more information about what makes me, me.
I am the beautiful, intelligent, and absolutely brilliant mother of three children. One of my children came to me with a pretty extensive trauma history at a very young age. His severe behaviors completely perplexed me, until I finally reached a point of no return. I either had to conquer this situation or simply resign to letting it defeat me. I chose to survive this and find a cure for my family.
My search for information took me many places, but ultimately it led me to the Beyond Consequences Institute, where I am learning to shift my entire way of thinking: from a place of fear into a new paradigm of love and acceptance.
Our family lives in Sheridan, Oregon — which is equally about 45 minutes between both Salem and Lincoln City, and about 15 mintues outside of McMinnville. Sheridan is a small town of about 4,000 people. We live in a little house, on a little street, in a little neighborhood.
Our family has five four three tropical fish, 12 million guppies, 6 cats, and 2 dogs. Some of our personal hobbies include all the typical Oregonian activities, such as camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, and watching rain fall. We ride 4-wheelers, are addicted to OPB, drink dark roast coffee all hours of the day, drive past wineries each time we leave the house, and love a good plate of tofu pad thai with extra peanut sauce. We have been known to wear hiking boots with shorts and we love a good fleece vest. We are Oregonians through and through. But most of all, we are a family living with attachment challenges. That is an identity that crosses all boundaries.
